Jens Vagelpohl - Owner, Software Engineer

Jens Vagelpohl has worked for Zope Corporation, the publisher of the Zope web application server, for five years. When he left he had advanced to manage the Zope Corporation Managed Hosting program which involved planning and execution of software deployments as well as the creation and maintenance of all network services needed to support some of the largest Zope-based deployments in the world.

This unique experience and competence is now available through Zetwork which he established in 2004.

Experience and career at a glance

  • 1996: Graduated "summa cum laude" from Northwood University in Midland/Michigan with a BBA in Marketing and Management.
  • 1999: Completion of studies at Eastern Michigan University resulting in a Masters of Science degree in Information Systems.
  • 1997-1999: Systems and network administrator at the Washtenaw Development Council, the economic development agency responsible for Washtenaw county in Michigan, home of Eastern Michigan University.
  • 2000-2004: Software developer and head of the Zope Managed Hosting program at Zope Corporation.
  • 2004: Established Zetwork GmbH in Oldenburg, Germany.

Jens is actively involved in various Open Source projects such as Zope, the Zope Content Management Framework (CMF) and other Zope-related projects. He publishes a collection of his own software at dataflake.org.

Chris McDonough - Consulting Software Engineer

Zetwork is proud to work hand in hand with Chris McDonough, one of the most prolific members of the Zope developer community. His background started on the hardware side of the business and includes years of consulting and project management expertise as the head of his own networking consulting business.

Chris worked for Zope Corporation between 1999 and 2003 where he acted as software developer and team lead. He has contributed infrastructure packages for Zope such as sessioning, the Event package, the Scheduler package and many pieces of the Zope 2.7 configuration and installation machinery.

He now runs his own consulting service in Fredericksburg, Viriginia. In his spare time he enjoys being part of the Zope developer community and helps out in projects like the newest edition of the Zope Book and developing the BackTalk document annotation and editing system. He also runs a blog site at plope.com.
